1. Scope of this policy

This policy covers the Rubber Band Throw mobile game (the “Game”) and the website at rubberbandthrow.com (the “Site”). Different features collect different data — for example, the Site currently only processes emails you choose to send us, while the Game may collect account and gameplay data once it launches. Where a section applies to only one of them, we say so.

2. Information we collect

Information you provide

  • Account & profile: a username, avatar, and optional details you add to your profile.
  • Communications: messages you send us by email (for support, waitlist sign-ups, or feedback), including your email address and the contents of your message.

Information collected automatically

  • Gameplay data: matches played, rubber bands won and lost, scores, leaderboard rank, in-game currency, purchases, and progression.
  • Room & invite data: rooms you create or join, room settings, and invite links you generate or accept.
  • Device & technical data: device model, operating system, app version, language, a device or advertising identifier, crash reports, and approximate region derived from IP address.
  • Usage data: features used, session length, and interactions, collected through analytics tools.

We do not intentionally collect precise location, contacts, photos, or microphone data, and we do not ask for your real name.

3. How we use your information

  • Run matches, rooms, invites, and multiplayer matchmaking.
  • Save your progress, currency, purchases, and leaderboard rank.
  • Provide the shop, daily offers, and account features.
  • Prevent cheating, fraud, and abuse, and keep the game fair.
  • Fix bugs, measure performance, and improve the game.
  • Respond to your support requests and waitlist sign-ups.
  • Show and measure advertising where applicable.
  • Comply with legal obligations.

4. Multiplayer & social features

Rubber Band Throw is a multiplayer game. When you play with others or appear on a leaderboard, certain information is visible to other players by design, including your username, avatar, leaderboard rank, and in-match activity. When you create a room or send an invite link, anyone with that link may be able to join your room. Please choose a username and avatar that you are comfortable sharing publicly.

5. Advertising & analytics

The Game may show ads (including optional rewarded ads that grant in-game rubber bands) and use analytics to understand how the game is used. These services are provided by third parties that may collect device and advertising identifiers and usage data under their own privacy policies. Depending on your device and region, you can limit ad tracking through your device settings (for example, “Limit Ad Tracking” on iOS or resetting your advertising ID on Android). The Site itself does not run third-party advertising.

6. In-app purchases

The Game may offer optional in-app purchases (such as rubber bands or cosmetic items). Payments are processed by the Apple App Store or Google Play, not by us. We receive a record that a purchase occurred and the item purchased, but we do not receive or store your full payment card details. Refunds are handled through the applicable app store.

7. When we share information

We do not sell your personal information. We share data only:

  • With service providers who help us run the game (hosting, analytics, crash reporting, advertising, and payment processing), under contracts that limit their use of your data.
  • With other players,as described in the Multiplayer & social features section.
  • For legal reasons, if required by law or to protect the rights, safety, and property of players or the public.
  • In a business transfer, such as a merger or acquisition, in which case we will notify you of any change.

8. Children's privacy

Rubber Band Throw is intended for players aged 13 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your country). If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us at hello@rubberbandthrow.com and we will delete it.

9. How long we keep data

We keep account and gameplay data for as long as your account is active, and for a reasonable period afterward to prevent fraud, resolve disputes, and meet legal obligations. Support emails are kept only as long as needed to handle your request. You can ask us to delete your account and associated data at any time.

10. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including encryption in transit and access controls. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security, but we work to protect your data and respond quickly to any issues.

11. Your rights & choices

Depending on where you live (for example, under the GDPR in Europe or the CCPA in California), you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or export your personal information, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to withdraw consent. To exercise any of these rights, email us at hello@rubberbandthrow.com. We will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights. You can also control ad personalization through your device settings.

12. International data transfers

We may process and store information in countries other than the one you live in, including where our service providers operate. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards to protect your information when it is transferred internationally.

13. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the “Last updated” date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the game or on the Site. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised policy.

14. Contact us

If you have questions about this Privacy Policy or how we handle your data, contact us at hello@rubberbandthrow.com.
